Next Flight: Wednesday, August 28, 2013
We are accepting applications for Veterans and Guardians. Since veterans are flown on a first-come, first-served basis, you are encouraged to apply now.
Guardian Sponsorship
Guardians are crucial to the success of each Honor Flight. A Guardian may be a relative or friend of a WWII Veteran, or simply a willing volunteer. Guardians accompany our Veterans, providing assistance and support as well as sharing cherished memories. Each Guardian Sponsor makes a tax deductible donation of $500 to fly with our Veterans.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
The cost is FREE for World War II and terminally ill veterans. You do not need to bring any money, unless you intend to purchase souvenirs.
How do you decide which veterans get to go?
Veterans are flown on a “first-come, first-served basis.” Within the applicants, top priority is currently given to World War II veterans and all other veterans with terminal illness. Our second priority is to Korean War veterans and then Vietnam War veterans.
How do veterans in wheel chairs travel around DC?
The Honor Flight Network is generously supported by the premier motor coach company in Maryland, Dillon’s Bus Service. All of their buses are wheelchair lift equipped.
